As a Child of God, Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister and Friend, I ask myself, "What does it mean to be a Woman of Excellence?" Honestly, I don't have a perfect answer, although I am looking! The resource, my Bible. If I am to set a standard of excellence, I can only weigh what that standard is by the measure of God's Word. God has set the standard. Does that mean perfection? It can't be so because I am human. I am incapable of perfection. Perfection is believing the lie the Devil tells us, "We can be like God." So if I am not striving for perfection, what am I striving for? My pastor and his wife often say, "Good, better, best? Never let it rest, till your good is better and your better is best." So, what's the best? What does being a Woman of Excellence look like in the eyes of God? I am exploring this very idea through a Bible Study at my church called Woman of Excellence: A Good Work In Me. Any thoughts on what you think God says about this topic?
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus… And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
